If you’ve been following Danganronp over the last few years, Spike Chunsoft celebrated its anniversary by bringing the series to mobile in the form of anniversary editions. After the first two released, there was a long delay for V3, but it finally arrived in the form of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition ($15.99). Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc ($15.99) and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair ($15.99) on iOS and Android remain the best way to play and experience these stories despite some issues with the ports. For Nintendo Switch, Spike Chunsoft also included a bonus game titled Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp is a spinoff based on a mini-game from Danganronpa V3 that released for $19.99 on the eShop with its own optional microtransactions. That is now coming to PS4, Steam, iOS, and Android on July 21st at the same price point. Watch a trailer for the Switch version below:
Read Shaun’s review of the Switch collection that includes Danganronpa S here. As a freebie includion in the Decadence physical package, it is fine, but I never cared much for the postgame stuff in the Danganronpa main games, so this didn’t click with me as much. Check out my reviews of the first two games on mobile here and here. I’m still playing through Danganronpa V3 on iOS. You can buy Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition on the App Store for iOS here and Google Play for Android here. Note that the App Store version is a different build for some regions. The prior link is for North America. Use this one for Asia. It is going to be interesting to see if Danganronpa S includes controller support or cloud saves since prior releases do not support those basic features. Check out the official website for the mobile ports here and our forum thread for the games here and here. Did you play these games on mobile or Switch through their anniversary edition releases?
